When I purchase new stamp sets, I look for ones that have multiple possibilities in them. the ones that really catch my eyes are those that have strong sentiments or quotes with them. It could be an age thing; as I grow older I begin to ponder things more, looking for quotes and sentiments that speak a strong message.
My newest set came with a few cute images but the quotes are what truly drew me in. This first one placed me on a brief journey to learn its meaning as it seemed to be one that would open my eyes a bit more to the inside of who I was created to be. "Peace within makes beauty without" English Proverb. I'll be honest in confessing that this one had me a bit perplexed at first, it's simplistic and brief yet it gives the feeling of having a deeper meaning that what is originally read when glancing at it.
So what do you do if you read a quote and can't wrapped your brain cells around its meaning? You ask your friends and family for their input of course which is exactly what I did! I posted this on Facebook and then just waited. Several ladies responded to my question, their answers somewhat similar but also different.
My sister Debe answered my English proverb with a Chinese proverb (Isn't there a rule about being able to do this?? lol! She wrote "If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person. If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the house. If there is harmony in the house, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world." ~ Chinese Proverb
Sherrie shared with us "Have you ever notice how "peaceful" people have this look about them? They have this overall general appearance of tranquility. That peace within exudes to the beauty without them."
My brother Brian commented back with "I have come to realize that inner peace and accepting what life you have does reflect outward. live good-be kind-and do right-it makes others admire you."
Elaine, my Sister in Christ finished up the discussion with "A peaceful person has an outer beauty that exudes grace, contentment and love. True peace does not give way to anxiety or stress and results in the absence of taut muscles, turned down mouth, worry wrinkles and such. Besides that, a peaceful person tends to be less self-centered and more service oriented, resulting in the beauty of kindness to others."
Imagine exuding grace, contentment and love.... how beautiful is that! I also love the part of how peace in a person creates a desire to be more service-oriented. As Christians we are to have a servant attitude, always seeking out opportunities to serve others. In return, we are blessed beyond measure!
I'm off again, searching for quotes that I can incorporate into my cards with a hope of touching the recipients heart. If you have a quote or sentiment that is special to you, please share! I'm sure we can get you some discussion and feedback for it!
Hope you enjoy! Until next time!
