We've arrived at week #11 over at Perfect Sentiments and this weeks challenge is all about romance!! We're sponsored this week by Shelly's Images and the winner will receive a $9 Gift Voucher equivalent to 3 digital images! Be sure to stop over at Shelly's Images and see all the wonderful digi images....you'll be glad that you did!
This weeks challenge is to create a card that reflects a sentiment for a marriage anniversary. The "twist" is to use the following photo as inspiration for the design of your card.
I was inspired by this picture in several ways. I love the softness of the picture...the cascading sheer curtains, the victorian chairs and the flowers. I felt that if I were to sit in this space with my husband, we would find it relaxing, peaceful and ultimately romantic (in a southern kind of way!). What ultimately inspired my card this week were the colors. I knew that I wanted to create a romantic card with using white, black and a soft rose. Lucky for me that my paper addiction has provided me with these colors in many different styles to choose from!
I'm becoming quite intrigues with my Spellbinder dies and am getting more comfortable with incorporating them into mt creations. For this card, I used the Labels Six dies and the Labels Eleven dies. I loved the look of placing one die inside the other and creating a framed shape to place on top of my quote.
This quote is from that ever-popular character of wisdom Dr Seuss!! It reads "You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams." Is that not the most romantic, lovey dovey thing!
I was thinking of my own lovey dovey husband when I was creating this as the image of him resonates with the meaning of this quote. I remember days gone by when I would dream of finding that someone special. Now, I only have to look at the man beside me to realize that he exists and is the love of my life!!
I'll add this to the box for my "Maine Mom" as I'm not so sure that my husband would enjoy getting a pink card for our next anniversary! I may just have to make another and change the color which would be more masculine.
Hope you enjoy! Until next time.
